Record Day in Cleveland

This past weekend was one for the record books! 20 events throughout the Cleveland, Ohio area were thrilled by Rock The House DJs, MCs, dancers, photobooths, and a variety of custom lighting designs specifically created for our client’s visions.

Over 60 Rock the House team members rocked the lives of students, families, companies, and couples on Saturday. Each event was great for unique reasons. From a stunningly elegant tented outdoor wedding for wedding planner extraordinaire, Valerie Kirkbride, to Kyle’s Bar Mitzvah at Landerhaven, all the way to a number of really fun high school homecomings…this weekend had it all.

The team celebrated, at the end of the night, with a cookout at Rock The House Headquarters. Everyone was excited to share the details of their events with each other. It goes to show you just how much pride our team has in their work. That’s what sets us apart: Rock Star Entertainers working for Rock Star Clients.

Welcome to the Team: Nick Borelli

Rock The House announces the addition of a new member to our team: Nick Borelli. Nick is coming on board as the Marketing & Communications Director. Originally hailing from Erie, Pennsylvania, Nick moved to the Pittsburgh area in 2005 and then to Cleveland in 2009. He has a variety of event planning and production experience with a focus on weddings and themed events.

Nick is an active International Caterers Association member with catering friends and contacts all over the country. He has worked with the ICA at the Las Vegas Catersource convention leading Round Tables on Social Media and Blogging in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Nick has spoken on the topic of Blogging to hundreds of caterers and other event professionals. He has also been to a variety of trade shows and conferences all over the country including The Special Event and the National Restaurant Association’s annual show in Chicago.

While employed at Pittsburgh’s Bella Sera, an off-premise catering and on-premise banquet facility, Nick transitioned from event logistics and execution to sales and management. He was able to pursue a path of creative event design with clients open to innovation, eventually specializing in weddings and themed events.

At the end of 2009, Nick moved to Cleveland, Ohio and joined the Executive Caterers team. As marketing director, Nick increased Executive Caterers web presence by creating and maintaining a number of Facebook pages, a YouTube channel, Twitter account, and a website redesign.

While employed at Bella Sera and later Executive Caterers, Nick’s other role was that of bar manager.  With his passion for mixology Nick has brought cocktail design expertise to Cleveland by creating a variety of signature drinks for his clients. In 2011, while at Catersource, Nick participated in an International Caterers Association Cocktail Competition on the trade show floor.  In addition to his knowledge of sprits, Nick is certified in both the RAMP and T.I.P.S. bar safety courses.

Nick’s unique event planning background will benefit RTH’s clients by adding yet another world-class resource for their event needs. “I’m really excited to work with clients that appreciate creative event design and outside the box thinking”, Nick says with a smile, “Creating once in a lifetime experiences is what gets me up in the morning.”

“We’re really excited about having Nick on board. He has made a great name for himself here in Cleveland and is really well known and respected for his vision, marketing abilities and social media expertise. We’re lucky to have him on our team. Lottery Winning Bride

By: Jen Scott

Growing up, girls dream of their wedding day and all that it brings along: happiness, love, family and big, white dresses. For some, the day of their wedding is the best day of their lives; what could make a woman happier than getting ready to spend the rest of her life with the man she loves? One bride found out when she won the Mega Millions lottery in Ohio just hours before her wedding.

Co-workers at a cabinet making company in Northeast Ohio went in together on a Mega Millions ticket and hit the $99 million jackpot the day before one of the workers weddings. She had been struck with luck and it wasn’t subsiding anytime soon. She was married at the Lodge at Geneva on the Lake, with entertainment by Cleveland DJs from Rock The House. “Their ceremony was outside with Lake Erie in the background. It was very romantic! Actually, it started to rain just as the ceremony had ended. They were very lucky,” Jeff Kutz, one of the DJs, said.

The reception was elegant with light blue and silver décor. The atmosphere was not obviously different because the bride was savoring her luck with only a few close friends and family members in the loop. But looking into the eyes of the bride there was a glimmer of love and hope for what the future may hold.

Either way the bride’s life was going to change that Saturday with the added richness of a forever love in her life. But it doesn’t hurt the celebration that she became $2 million richer as well. Although the bride kept quiet about her winnings during her big day there was no denying the joy she felt for all of the blessings she had been granted.

Rock The House Wins a World Class Customer Service Award!

For the Rock The House Team, June 8, 2010 offered us a reason to celebrate. After a long and thorough application process, we were recognized at Smart Business Magazine’s 2010 World Class Customer Service Awards, presented by Metro Lexus. Rock The House staff members were thrilled to be guests at this prestigious event.

RTH full time staff members, Matt Radicelli, Jeff Kutz and Jessica Goodworth arrived in style during cocktail hour-where we were kindly greeted by old friends and people we had not yet met. While sipping on top-shelf beverages and taking bites of the fantastic finger food- provided by Executive Caterers at Landerhaven, we were also offered the opportunity to mix and mingle with other professionals with whom we don’t normally get to hang out with, such as:

Skoda Minotti

Cleveland Clinic

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

Corporate College

Flique Creative

Le Chaperon Rouge

Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage

Your Teen Magazine

The awards ceremony consisted of hilarious banter between the hosts- Metro Lexus’s Dan Pyle and John R. DiJulius of The DiJulius Group. We enjoyed hearing them crack jokes, while watching behind-the-scenes video coverage of all of the companies’ interviews.

While only some Rock The House staff members were able to attend the event, all of us were on a mission this year to offer over-the-top customer service to our clients, colleagues and fellow staff members. We have developed a customer service system that is unheard of in our industry – if it’s not right… it’s free!
