Incredible Team, Incredible Results: A Cleveland Bar Mitzvah Success Story

Riddle me this: What’s blue and orange and FUN all over? A successful Bar Mitzvah at Porsche of Beachwood, of course! This high-end party was produced by creative visionary, Joe Mineo, of Something New Events in Canfield, Ohio and he decided to bring Rock The House along for the ride!

On May 23, 2015, Porsche of Beachwood was transformed from a luxury car dealership to a colorful, high-energy explosion of creative décor, entertainment, lighting, food, family, and friends. Rock The House provided DJ entertainment, staging, lighting, and Rock Shots Ultimate Basketball Pop A Shot Rental (our newest 4 player interactive digital basketball game).

Lead technician and DJ for the night, Alex Kay, was able to paint a great picture for us of the extravagant lighting display Rock The House created: “We suspended a 90’ truss spine in the middle of the ceiling which spanned almost the entire length of the service bay. We were able to use this as a base for various moving lights, TVs, and fog machines, which added a lot of depth and dimension to the room. The truss spine really created a complete environment and made the entire room feel like a party!”

Our energetic and enthusiastic entertainment team was the perfect for this unique event and offered a great mix of interaction and excitement for all age groups present. With a plethora of activities from photo booths and tattoos to the ice cream truck for dessert there was no way to have anything less than a GREAT time!

Lead by the amazing team at Something New Events along with the support of fellow vendors Rock The House, RED The Steakhouse/Moxie, and Steve Hacker, this Bar Mitzvah was certainly an event to be remembered!

Explaining Event Lighting

There’s More To It Than You Think

By now, most of our clients know lighting is an important to the success of an event. Often, that’s all they know. We work to educate our clients on the different ways lighting can impact your guests and compliment features. Event lighting might not be what you think.

Decor Lighting

What’s the difference between a club and a room with loud music? Why do some events feel “warm” or “cool”? The answer is decor lighting. Decor lighting transforms walls, highlights features, and creates moods. It’s not about transforming an ugly room into an attractive one; our clients aren’t often having events in ugly rooms! Decor lighting can transform a space into YOUR space and make it fit your vision. Washing walls in patterns of lights, matching the colors you’ve chosen for the night, or custom monograms of light are all ways you can create a more experiential environment.

Dance Floor Lighting

Lights on the dance floor have been a staple since the 70s! If you want a disco party, we can do that but most are looking for a more modern sophisticated look with that same allure. A misconception people have with dance floor lighting is that we just plug it in and random effects take over. Knowing the right fixtures for the look you want while staying on budget is something that takes years to master. With anything there are levels of what can be offered. The inclusion of a lighting designer isn’t at the lowest end of the cost spectrum but it’s probably less than you thought it would be for a professional expert working all evening long. What does a lighting designer do at your event? They do with light what your DJ does with music. By reading your crowd and matching lighting effects to the music, they can emotionally manipulate your guests…in a good way.

Three Waiters at Landerhaven by Party411 Events

These Servers Can Sing!

We once again had the privileges to be chosen to work for Party411 Events on Saturday, September 8th at Executive Caterers by Landerhaven. How often is can a birthday party boast national entertainment, a living sushi bar, and a massive bar carved out of ice? Well, this one had all that and more! We don’t want you to think this event felt overblown…far from it. This was actually a very relaxed event with friends sharing an evening together to celebrate a milestone birthday. Because the execution of the event involved so many high quality details, the flow of the event felt very natural.

Every aspect of this event had a global feel. The menu by Executive Caterers allowed guests to roam the room while trying menu items inspired by a variety of countries. The decor was also globally-inspired and very tasteful. This theme was taken to the next level by The Three Waiters. These singers were obviously on a national level and it just made the whole evening that much more impressive.

We really want to thank everyone at Party411 Events for involving us in this event. Any time we can offer our sound or lighting services to an event of this caliber is a treat. Transforming A Tent With Lighting

Kirkbrides North Canton Tent Reception

On July 7, 2012, Rock The House Entertainment provided lighting for a Kirkbrides Wedding Planners Reception inside an Everything Tented Tent in North Canton, Ohio. Those are the facts. Before that could happen, though, our teams worked together in heat of around 105 degrees for two days in order to get the perfect look our client was looking for. Creating a vibrant club-like atmosphere in the middle of a field doesn’t happen through magic. Our teams collaborated by working hand in hand to create a venue in tough conditions because we’re committed to creating the best event locations where and whenever our clients choose.

Kirkbrides really put together an exceptional team for a wedding reception. Setting up an beautiful outdoor reception venue for hundreds of guests is rarely easy but Kirkbrides knew who has the most experience doing it RIGHT and chose their partners accordingly. This is at the heart of what great event planners do. They know how to organize and coach a team of professionals that are right for the job. Knowing who has the experience, passion, and creativity necessary for the client’s needs is a difficult task that they don’t get enough credit for.

In addition to knowing who is needed to execute the functions of the event correctly, the Kirkbrides team did an excellent job with the myriad of details that this beautiful wedding had. Our lighting designer was on-hand for the entire event to create the specific vision of Kirkbrides and the client. In addition to our uplights, dance floor lighting design, decorative gobo lighting designs on the tent ceiling, gobo monogram on the dance floor, and generators for power, we also provided our elegant wedding reception chandeliers. These chandeliers are a great way to take an outdoor event to the next level of class as distinction.

39th Annual ZippityZooDoo in Cleveland

2012 Cleveland Metroparks – Zoolin Rouge

This annual event is really special to us. Not only do we all support the Cleveland Metropark Zoo but it is a prefect chance to work with some of the best event professionals on a truly collaborative event. Everyone had an important role to play in this very successful event. Over $285,000 were raised including auction pledges!

Rock The House was selected to provide tent lighting, our Green Screen Photo Magic, and the silent auction video presentation for this fundraiser. Our silent auction video package is something we are very proud of. Our designers create dynamic images to entice attendees to bid on the fabulous donated items that the Zoo was offering. Not only is the creative process of this exciting to us but it is also a way for us to impact donations directly.

Being able to show off our ability to create a WOW factor in a tented event space is something we really excel at. This event had some of the most breath taking temporary structures from Everything Tented. We saw each guest’s jaw drop when they saw this event space.

We learned a lot about our Cleveland Metropark Zoo while at this event. Did you know that over 3,000 animals live on this 183 acre venue? It’s a pretty impressive event venue on top of being a staple of what makes Cleveland special.

Thanks to all our fellow vendors for the opportunity to show off this wonderful location:

Also, thanks to Clue In Cleveland for all the great tweets.

Wedding Lighting at Shaker Heights Country Club

Wedding Reception Teamwork

When Kirkbrides Wedding Planning calls, we answer! Kirkbrides put together an AMAZING team for this Shaker Heights Country Club wedding reception. It’s such a pleasure to work with other professionals at the top of their game. No aspect of this wedding wasn’t absolutely fantastic. You could instantly tell that every detail was thought of which lead to a smooth and very FUN party.

As the lighting professionals on this event, it was our task to create the client’s unique vision for this already breath-taking venue ballroom. This couple was looking for a effect that was beyond just uplighting. Our uplights helped wash the room in their specific colors but it was our on-site lighting designer who created an experience that paired with the live band’s performance. Jerry Bruno Production’s “The Orchestra” coordinated their set list with our lighting designer in an effort that took full advantage of the their strengths.

For a list of all the great event professionals that worked together on this wedding, see below.

Eric Got Rocked at Barley House with our Event Lighting!

Our DJs ROCKED at Barley House

AJ’s Bar Mitzvah at Barley House in Beachwood, Ohio was an exciting one! The Rock The House DJ / MC team brought entertainment to all guests with one of the most fun packages – The Video Dance Party. The Rock The House Video Dance Party brings another element to the dance floor. It gives our DJs the ability to play music videos of the songs being played as well as the chance to put the excitement of the night’s dance floor on the big screen.

To make sure everyone is having the most fun possible, our Party Motivators made sure everyone had the best time on the dance floor. Our dancers are a group with unprecedented skills. When they are moving on the dance floor...the guests took pictures! Another trick we have are our novelties. Nothing gets our dancing guests excited like light-up hats, sunglasses, and more.

Each guest had the opportunity to leave the event with our Green Screen Photo Magic framed photo. AJ and his family were able to choose their own custom backgrounds for photos available all evening.

L’Nique’s Fete 2012 Open House Event

No one knows how to party like party makers, That said, no one is more critical of events they attend, either. Knowing about that double-edged sword L’Nique was able to put on a perfect event for those with the most discriminating tastes. March 22nd, 2012 was the annual open house for the event linen company, L’Nique. One of the secrets to the success of this event is – collaboration. A number of the best creative event designers were asked to take part in creating this unique and very looked forward to the annual event. Everyone had their own area to design and make their own but it all still fit within the overall feeling of the event.

Check out this video wrap-up of the event:

L’Nique’ 2012 Fete Open House Event from RTH Multimedia on Vimeo.

Rock The House had the pre and post event tent space to design. Our lighting set the mood for two distinctly different vibes. The pre-event time was one of networking, hors d’oeuvres, and signature cocktails. What really told people they were at something special was the live performance by one of the region’s most sought after live bands, Run Avril Run.

The next stage of the event was located in L’Nique’s warehouse. Every once in a while you would see something that would remind you that this was in a working warehouse. Most of the time, however, guests were almost overwhelmed with all the inspiration. Different designers brought their A-Game in a collaborative and healthy competition. It’s what drives true stars in our industry to create memorable and original works of art.

Following the innovative design-scapes of the warehouse, guests let their hair down and hit the dance floor in a transformed tent area and dance floor. Rock The House provided a club-like atmosphere for a group ready to ROCK on the dance floor. The bar has been raised once again for this event and we are happy to have been asked to be a part of this special event.

Rock The House Entertainment event specialists are ready to hear what your unique event goals are and will make them a reality.

Benjamin Got ROCKED! Cleveland Mitzvah DJs at The Temple Tifereth Israel

Benjamin got ROCKED at the The Temple Tifereth Israel, in Beachwood, Ohio on March 17, 2012.

Cleveland, Ohio Bar and Bat Mitzvah DJs, Rock The House entertained hundreds of guests at a truly remarkable Bar Mizvah. Known throughout the Northeast Ohio region as the premier event entertainers with their DJ / MC division. Rock The House Entertainment Group is far more than entertainers, however. This event is a great example of all the divisions working together on a memorable party.

The lighting division took center stage for this Simcha with uplights, gobo monograms, pin spotting, dance floor lighting, and more all coordinated by our on-site lighting designer. This helped create a club-like setting for this basketball-themed event.
